Fripp Island, South Carolina
May 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 2026
Fripp Island is near the southern tip of South Carolina, midway between Charleston and Savannah, Georgia. Conveniently located just 45 miles from I-95 and 18 miles from Beaufort, South Carolina, the island is at the end of US Highway 21.
This little Island offers a different lifestyle often not found in the hustle and bustle of everyday living. It is easy to take a step back and enjoy the tranquility and natural beauty of Fripp, aptly referred to as the “sea island jewel.” With minimal development on the island, there could hardly be a better place to relax.
Ocean Point was designed by George Cobb back in the 60’s, and was recently ‘spruced up’ by the Dye design group. #9 and #18 are right on the ocean. Course conditions are excellent, and the practice putting green is one of the prettiest in the country. The course has very small greens and does not feature too much water; if the wind doesn’t blow and you can hit it straight, you will have a great round.
Designed by Davis Love III and Paul Cowley, Ocean Creek opened in 1995. The course plays as a par 71 and Is not long by modern standards, but it demands accuracy, strategy, and nerve. Saltwater marshes, freshwater lagoons, thick vegetation, and sunbathing alligators are all part of the Ocean Creek experience. Many holes open up to sweeping views of South Carolina’s inland marshes, stretching for thousands of yards. If you catch it near sunset, with the light settling over the water and spartina grass, it feels otherworldly.
SGA Fripp Island accommodations are spacious two-bedroom, two-bath condominiums with full kitchen, living room, dining room, and private patio or balcony. All have full ocean views, and are walking distance from the Ocean Point course. The Cabana Club restaurant, serving breakfast and dinner, is right across the street.
