Enjoy the Charm of Savannah with SGA
The Club at Savannah Harbor
The Westin
Savannah, Georgia
October 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 2026
Savannah always has been known as a refined and historic Southern city, and while this is true, a modern and artistic energy is running through it these days. Signs of the “New South” are felt throughout this beautiful town. It has been a few years since SGA has visited this delightful city, and we are very excited to return.

A Fodor’s Choice Hotel, the Westin Savannah Harbor is a wonderful property offering more amenities than any hotel in the area. The location of this hotel is perfect, and one of the very best features of the Westin is the Heavenly Bed. It is — well — heavenly!

The Westin is located directly on the Savannah River. We love to watch the enormous container ships go by each day. They are so close to the hotel on the river it feels as if you could reach out and touch them. Another place to enjoy the ships is one of our favorite rooftop spots directly across the river from the Westin — Rocks on the Roof atop the Grand Bohemian Hotel. Take a little jaunt over there one evening — it’s magical!

The Club at Savannah Harbor is a beautiful facility adjacent to the Westin. Designed by legends Sam Snead and Bob Cupp, the course winds through wetlands and offers fabulous views of downtown Savannah and of the Talmadge Bridge. Many varieties of wildlife are often seen on and around the course. Challenging and enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels, SGA members always have enjoyed playing the Club at Savannah Harbor course.
Strolling around the beautiful historic city is an activity in and of itself. Friends of Golfers will find many ways to enjoy their time in Savannah. SGA will hold a luncheon get-together one day and either a sightseeing or shopping excursion another morning while in Savannah.
Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is located in the ruins of an antebellum rail depot, and features a fabulous art museum. Savannah was America’s first planned city, and one of its famous features is its 22 squares, in one of which the lovely scene from Forrest Gump was filmed. The architecture of Savannah is beautiful, unique, and grand. Antique and vintage stores, paperies, galleries, candy shops – there is something for everyone in the charming downtown area of Savannah…not to mention the restaurants featuring Southern cuisine.
