Top of the Rock
Big Cedar Lodge
Ridgedale, Missouri
October 19, 20, 21, 22, 2022

Senior Golfers of America’s exciting new venue, Big Cedar Lodge in The Ozarks, is located in southeast Missouri, just a 5-iron away from the Arkansas border, Big Cedar is a golfer’s paradise, nestled amid a landscape that can only be described as breathtaking. Tiger Woods and his course design firm, TGR Design, partnered with renowned conservationist and Bass Pro Shops CEO Johnny Morris in the course’s construction as each of them recognized the unique beauty of this region.

Their collaboration resulted in what was named in 2021 as the best new golf course in America, Payne’s Alley. The links are linked to the late Payne Stewart, the three-time Major winner, known for his dashing wardrobe and gentlemanly demeanor, who was born and raised about an hour north of Big Cedar in Springfield.

The course is a fitting tribute to Stewart. The layout features exposed limestone cliffs and wide fairways, integrating with the environment in the way its founders intended. Golfers of all levels will find themselves challenged while also enjoying incomparable views. What makes Payne’s Alley truly unforgettable is the natural beauty of its conclusion. Before reaching the clubhouse, golfers wind their way through a series of spring-fed caverns and waterfalls. It’s a one-of-a-kind finish.

Payne’s Alley is just one of three world-class, 18-hole courses at Big Cedar Lodge. The legendary Tom Fazio was course designer for Buffalo Ridge. The third course is a gem in its own right. Ozarks National was designed by Masters Champion Ben Crenshaw and architect Bill Coore. Like Payne’s Alley, both Buffalo Ridge and Ozarks National showcase the panoramic surroundings.

SGA golfers and FoGs can catch their breaths with a full range of activities. There is something for everyone at Big Cedar. With over 5,000 plants, Top of the Rock’s Butterfly Garden came to life with careful construction and the selection of local, butterfly-attracting plants. We will schedule the one-hour golf cart tour through the garden and Lost Canyon cave and nature trail for SGA FoGs. Also available are the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum, the “End of the Trail” All-American Wine Cellar, and the spectacular Chapel of the Ozarks and Civil War era cabin. And, as always, we will hold our FoG luncheon together on our opening day.

SGA tournaments are open to members only. Not a member? Join today!
