Unspoiled beaches to the east, stunning marshes to the west, and island charms everywhere in between, as they say in the area, “It’s an island thing.” The island was named for Princess Amelia, daughter of George II of Great Britain, and changed hands between colonial powers a number of times. It is claimed that eight flags have flown over Amelia Island: French, Spanish, British, Floridian/Patriot, Green Cross, Mexican, Confederate, and United States.

Located just off the coast of northeast Florida, Amelia Island is easy to reach, but hard to forget. With 13 miles of beautiful beaches, abundant native wildlife, and pristine waters, this barrier island has long been a beloved destination for visitors and residents alike.

Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course, built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous.

Tom Fazio’s award-winning design of the Long Point course challenges golfers with natural hazards, tight fairways and elevated greens. The rolling fairways wind through three spectacular and distinctive settings: the magnificent marshes, the thick oak and pine forest, and the scenic oceanfront dunes. Long Point’s character is shaped by natural waste bunkers, large undulating greens and our very distinctive back-to-back oceanfront par 3s.

Accommodations are oceanfront deluxe guest room with either a king-size bed or two queen beds. All rooms have furnished balconies with views of the Atlantic Ocean. To upgrade to a large suite with separate seating area and sofa sleeper, contact our office.

Our SGA F.o.G.s (Friends of Golfers), will love Amelia Island. A cute shopping village is onsite, and the nearby historic downtown of Fernandina Beach (described as a tropical Mayberry) features three museums, including the Shrimpers Museum!  FoGs will enjoy a luncheon overlooking the ocean on the first day of the event, and a sightseeing/shopping tour the next day.

Getting to Amelia Island is easy. If you are flying, the resort is approximately 30 minutes from Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), Amelia Island is a short thirty-minute drive from JAX, with convenient transportation companies that service the airport. JAX is supported by all major airlines with new, nonstop services recently added from Austin, Texas; New York’s LaGuardia Airport; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Los Angeles, California.
