~Treat yourself to an unforgettable experience~

Welcome to Wine Country!

Sonoma County is home to over 495 wineries spread out over 18 unique appellations. Viticulture here goes back to the 19th century when immigrants from Mediterranean countries descended upon the region and began planting vines. While most vineyards were “gardens” for personal family consumption, commercial wineries sprung up and by the dawn of the 20th century there were dozens of wineries operating.

Today Santa Rosa’s suburbs and historic neighborhoods are home to many of Sonoma County’s winemakers and winery personnel—as well as some of its most interesting wineries. Santa Rosa wine tasting rooms are sprinkled throughout downtown, in “warehouse winery” clusters in light industrial areas of town, and in a rural area west of town that’s a prime subregion of the Russian River Valley AVA.

Vineyard Views & Player-Friendly Golf

Originally founded in 1916, the Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club was relocated to its present day location in 1959 by designer Jack Fleming, a protégé of legendary designer Alister MacKenzie. The outstanding design of this private course lends itself to players of all ages and skill levels. Clocking in at 6,712 yards, the 18 hole par 72 course is surely one of the most beautiful and well-designed courses in Northern California. Play here affords experience of the peaceful and serene views that only Wine Country can offer, and the course is a short 11-minute drive from Vintners Inn.

Vintners Inn is nine minutes by car from Charles M. Schultz Sonoma County Airport (STS). The airport is named for Charles Schulz, the famed cartoonist of the Peanuts comic strip, who lived in Santa Rosa for more than 30 years. The airport’s logo features Snoopy in World War I flying-ace attire atop his doghouse. Both American Airlines and United fly into STS, but SGA members will probably want to use Alaska Air, which features a “Wine Flies Free” promotion for all passengers.

All SGA events are members only (join now).
